GRAND CHAPTER SPECIAL COMMITTEES
2011-2012


These descriptions are highlights of each committee.
The General Chairmen and Sectional Chairmen will give
the Regional Appointments in depth directions, suggestions, and guidelines.
The Regional Appointments will share the information with the Chapter
Representatives.
BFF – BUILDING FRATERNAL FAMILIES
Membership – Retain,
Activate, and Develop Members
Masonic Youth support
Masonic Relations to other
Masonic groups
CARING AND SHARING
The proceeds are used to
help Sisters and Brothers through the Fraternal Committee.
There will be “Chili and
Sweet Cook Off” events to support this committee.
Chapters and Regions will
hold a “cook off”.
There will be a surprise
competition at each Sectional Event.
Central Event – January 28,

CHARITY
The proceeds will benefit
MS, Cancer, and Educational Scholarship/ESTARL.
An item will be sold in the
chapters to support this project.
There will be a statewide
project.
There are to be no Chapter
or Regional projects just encouragement to support the statewide project and
purchase the item being sold.
GOLDEN STARS
Honoring of our 50 year
members
Regional/Chapter Luncheons
are encouraged to recognize our 50 year members.
The 50 year members will be
honored at a luncheon at Grand Chapter.
Please plan to attend Grand Chapter to assist with the luncheon.
HIVE – HELPFUL INDIVIDUALS VOLUNTEER EVERYWHERE
Community Outreach
Encouraging our members to
volunteer in their communities.
A “timesheet” will be
distributed to members who want to participate.
Recognition of members who
have the most hours of volunteering.
HOMES
(aka Masonic Villages) (See Important Dates List
for Festivals)
Provides Services to
residents
Raise funds by participating
in Village Festivals.
There will be a Chapter
OR Regional project to
support the Masonic Villages.
Please take note we are encouraging a choice of Chapter or Regional projects.
The Regional Appointment will choose which direction the Region will
take.

SERVICE DOGS
This Committee will have TWO Regional
Appointments to raise money for the Most Worthy Grand Matron’s Special Project.
We will change our trash into cash.
Stamps for Service Dogs
Save and trim cancelled
stamps
Encourage Chapter to have a
stamp cutting party.
Turn over trimmed and sorted
stamps to the Regional Appointment.
Aluminum for Service Dogs
Collect recyclable aluminum
Take aluminum to a local
Aluminum
Recycling
Center for cash and give proceeds
to the Regional Appointment
Put “Coins for Collars”
containers in local stores which will conclude in January 2012
A special project will be
introduced for February 2012
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS THAT

CREDENTIALS
Attendance at Grand Chapter
2012 is necessary
Will work in conjunction
with the Registration Committee to confirm certification of delegates
A schedule of work times
will be assigned by the Credentials Chairman
NEWSPAPER – “WHAT’S THE BUZZ?”
Send articles and/or
photographs to the Editor of the newspaper
There will NOT be Regional
Appointments for this committee.
Chapter Representatives will send their articles directly to the Editor of the
newspaper.
Newspaper Staff will assist
the Editor with typing, proofreading, and layout.
Other tasks may be identified when assistance is needed.
REGISTRATION
Attendance at Grand Chapter
2012 is necessary
Will work in conjunction
with the Credentials Committee to register delegates and members
A schedule of work times
will be assigned by the Registration Chairman
ROSEBUDS
All members of this
Committee are asked to be ambassadors of goodwill throughout the state and share
“hugs” with our members
Some members of this
Committee have been asked to coordinate various events
UNITY DAY
Assist with the planning and
execution of a Tailgate Party at Penn State University on September 3, 2011
VETERANS OUTREACH
There is no Regional Appointment for
this committee. Representatives
from the Veterans Facility will contact and coordinate Chapters with information
and facility needs.
Chapter will be appointed a
Veterans Facility
Collect items to help the
Veterans and Facility
Set up a fun event with the
Representative from the facility
