Our commitment to
supporting numerous charities speaks for itself. We donated approximately
$675,000 this past year when I was honored to serve as Worthy Grand Matron.
Some of our special charities include:
Multiple Sclerosis - $85,011.27
American Lung Association - $5,161.00
For Kids to Camp Can do - $6,000.00
Hospice VNA - $500.00
Shriners Hospitals - $2,761.00 & 10,192 coloring books & 7,944
packs of crayons & 172 stuffed toys and other items totaling 496 and
personal monetary gifts
Educational Scholarships -$134,000.00-134 scholarships @$1000.00 each/
(We collected aluminum totaling $12,121.75 towards these scholarships)
Fraternal Assistance - $215,250.00 Monthly Checks/ $15,238.14 Emergency
Caring and Sharing Luncheons profit - $51,819.86 to benefit
Fraternal Fund
Homes Festivals to benefit the Masonic Villages - we earned $48,621.44
net plus other income for a total of $114,352.44 given to the Villages
Veterans Outreach - $18,270.30 which includes $4,256.00 (blankets,
jackets, etc & approximately $875.89 cash to each of 16 facilities) plus
approximately $5,000 in clothing, personal items were donated.
March of Dimes - My Special Project - $118,323.40
Youth - $11,266.00
These are some of the wonderful things we do to help others.
To earn this kind of money we have many fun social events such as luncheons, tea
parties, basket socials and many other events. Not only do we help others
who cannot help themselves, but working together we form everlasting
friendships.
I have traveled by over 35,000 miles this past year to share
with my Sisters and Brothers the love I have for Eastern Star. My Grand
Officers and I attended over 252 Meetings, Church Services and various events
and loved every one of them.
It has truly been a Magical year filled with many Precious
Memories.
